Select A Camp

Dear Parent or Professional:

Many of these questions may be answered over the phone prior to going to the site. We also recommend you closely review all information sent to you by a program. The attached questions are not meant to be all inclusive, to address any possible problem. They are intended to serve as a guide in the over all assessment of a typical therapeutic wilderness camp.
You are encouraged to make a very thorough review of each program you may wish to consider not only by talking with the program staff, but also by visiting. Also be sure to talk with people external to the program, such as the state licensing agency for the camp under consideration. A reputable organization will also provide you with contact with previous client's served. A parent who has gone through the entire process is sure to have valuable insight.

Please remember: YOU, as the parent, are going to making the final decision as to whether or not you should send your child to any camp. All the suggestions in the world will not absolve you of that responsibility, so prepare yourself as best you can.
