  The National Association of Therapeutic Wilderness Camps is pleased to present you with copies of our National Wilderness Counselor Certification. This program was inaugurated at the NATWC 1998 conference. It is intended to provide counselors with formal recognition of the hard work they have put in acquiring the skills and training necessary to be therapeutic wilderness counselors. The enclosed booklets describe the program and contain the forms required for your counselors and program staff to participate.

  This program can be a valuable tool in providing your staff with the recognition they so richly deserve. Widespread implementation of this program can also be an important step in legitimizing and promoting our industry to the public in general.
